Comment c'est censé fonctionner
Le minoxidil est un ouvreur de canaux potassiques développé comme antihypertenseur oral ; la pousse des cheveux était un effet secondaire observé, et la forme topique en a découlé. Il prolonge la phase de croissance des follicules encore fonctionnels. Il ne crée pas de nouveaux follicules : c'est sa limite, et c'est précisément l'écart que visent la plupart des programmes de ce registre.
Pourquoi c'est important
C'est l'étalon à garder en tête en lisant le reste du pipeline. La notice est d'une franchise inhabituelle sur les limites : jusqu'à quatre mois avant un résultat, produit non destiné aux golfes temporaux, repousse non démontrée au-delà de 48 semaines dans les grands essais, et arrêt du traitement synonyme de perte de la repousse en trois à quatre mois. Tout nouveau programme qui prétend compter doit faire mieux, publiquement, sur une densité mesurée.
Où c'est autorisé
L'autorisation de mise sur le marché s'obtient pays par pays, pour une indication précise. Un médicament autorisé contre la chute de cheveux dans un pays peut n'y être autorisé que pour autre chose ailleurs — ou pas du tout.
