Stem Cell Educator therapy
Stem Cell Educator therapy is in Phase 2 for alopecia areata, developed by Throne Biotechnologies.
An apheresis procedure that passes a patient's own immune cells over cord-blood stem cells before returning them, tried in alopecia areata since 2012.

Tests whether it works, at what dose, in a few hundred people.
Retunes the immune system more broadly than a single pathway.
A research record, not medical advice: being listed here says nothing about whether a treatment works or whether it is right for you. Talk to a dermatologist about your own case.
How it is meant to work
Blood is drawn, lymphocytes are separated and briefly co-cultured with cord-blood-derived stem cells inside the device, then returned to the patient in a single session of eight to nine hours. By the inventor's description the donor cells never enter the body; the claim is that the patient's lymphocytes come back re-educated. Filed here as a device with an immune mechanism, not as a stem-cell transplant.
Why it matters
The evidence is a 2015 open-label report in BMC Medicine on nine patients with severe alopecia areata, from the inventor's own group, describing regrowth after one treatment; it is the readout of the Phase 1/2 registered in 2012, whose registry record was never updated. A Phase 2 registered in 2019 started in September 2022 and has shown status 'unknown' since January 2023. Listed as inactive on the strength of the registry silence, not of any sponsor statement.
