How it is meant to work
A fully human antibody against the IL-7 receptor alpha chain, which blocks both IL-7 and TSLP signalling, two cytokines implicated in T-cell-driven disease. The company's word for what it hopes to achieve is remittive, a response that outlasts the dosing, and it says its early data may be suggestive of one.
Why it matters
In February 2025 Q32 Bio shut its other clinical programme to fund this one. Part B of SIGNAL-AA enrolled 33 adults with severe or very severe disease, 36% of them previously on a JAK inhibitor. At 36 weeks the company reported a mean SALT reduction of 35.3% among the 25 patients in its evaluable population, a SALT score of 20 or below in 40% of them, and in 30% of all 33 who started. No serious treatment-related adverse events; injection-site reactions in about a third. Part A had shown responses still improving at week 55, after dosing stopped. In September 2026 it reported 16 weeks of follow-up after dosing stopped in Part B: of the 18 patients who entered it, 44% had a SALT score of 20 or below at the end, and none of the 12 who had regrown hair by week 36 worsened by 20 SALT points or more, which is the company's definition of a maintained response. The company intends to start a registration-directed programme in the first half of 2027. Sponsor topline figures, no placebo arm in Part B.
