How it is meant to work
A topical solution of a JAK 1/3 inhibitor, trialled as ATI-502 in alopecia areata — including an eyebrow-loss study — and separately in androgenetic alopecia.
Why it matters
The second topical JAK in this register to run out of road, and for a different reason from delgocitinib: the sponsor reported that a high rate of spontaneous recovery in the vehicle arm left no separation to measure. Results are posted on ClinicalTrials.gov for both programmes. Listed as discontinued on the evidence that the trials completed in 2018 and 2019 and no further study has been registered since — the sponsor has not announced a decision, which is why this row is MEDIUM rather than HIGH.
