How it is meant to work

Finasteride loaded into PLGA microspheres for subcutaneous injection, releasing over a month; the mechanism is the one the tablet has had since 1997. CKD-843, the dutasteride depot in this register, is the same idea with the other molecule.

Why it matters

The Phase 1, published in Advances in Therapy in 2024, gave healthy men single doses of 12 to 36 mg against daily oral finasteride and found a flat plasma profile without the daily peaks, with monthly dosing modelled to match the tablet's DHT suppression. In December 2025 Korean press reported a Phase 2 filing with Australia's TGA for the monthly form, developed with Daewoong, with a Korean filing then planned for the first half of 2026. The registry classes the completed trial as Phase 1/2; no Phase 2 has appeared in a registry yet, and it will be recorded here when one lists it.
