A research record, not medical advice: being listed here says nothing about whether a treatment works or whether it is right for you. Talk to a dermatologist about your own case.

Why it matters

Dutasteride inhibits both isoforms of 5-alpha-reductase where finasteride inhibits one, and is approved for hair loss in South Korea and Japan, as the dutasteride entry in this register records; a topical would be the same bet as topical finasteride, systemic exposure traded for a local effect. The registered study runs a topical arm (AD-303A) alongside an oral arm (AD-3031) in men, measuring pharmacokinetics, scalp DHT and safety to support dose selection, with a planned start in April 2026 and completion in December; the record has not been updated since March 2026. Moogene Medi is the sponsor of record, with Seoul National University Hospital as collaborator, and has not published what the formulation is.
