Why it matters
One of two anti-prolactin-receptor programmes in the register, and the first: Hope Medicine licensed the antibody from Bayer in April 2019, took it through a Phase 1 in Australia and then a 192-man Phase 2 in China that completed in November 2024 with no result posted to the registry. If prolactin signalling turns out to matter in pattern hair loss, this is a route that does not depend on DHT, which is the argument for it; whether it works in people the DHT route has failed is a question no trial has asked.
