How it is meant to work

Phenylephrine and related alpha-1 agonists constrict scalp vessels. In chemotherapy-induced hair loss the intent is to reduce how much cytotoxic drug reaches the follicle — the same principle as a cooling cap, attempted pharmacologically. The sponsor also describes a TAAR-agonist component in the shedding formulation. How this would work in androgenetic alopecia is not established by the registry records.

Why it matters

It is the clearest example in the register of one sponsor running a family of numbered formulations across several indications at once — shedding, pattern loss, and chemotherapy-induced alopecia. Filed as one row deliberately: the codes differ, the mechanism does not, and splitting them would suggest more independent programmes than exist.
