Telogen effluvium

A sudden, diffuse shed that follows an illness, a birth, surgery, a crash diet or severe stress, typically two to three months after the event itself.

This is what most people are actually describing when they say their hair suddenly started falling out. There is no approved drug for it anywhere in the world, and almost nothing in development — the register holds everything that exists, and it is a short list.
