A research record, not medical advice: being listed here says nothing about whether a treatment works or whether it is right for you. Talk to a dermatologist about your own case.
Why it matters
Vcare describes VC005 as a selective second-generation JAK1 inhibitor, already in Phase 3 for atopic dermatitis and licensed to Huadong Medicine for China in August 2025, so alopecia areata is an indication extension for a systemic drug rather than a new bet. The Phase 2 randomises 120 adults with severe disease against placebo; a Phase 1 in adolescents is registered to start in September 2026. Nothing clinical has been reported in the indication.
