Tests whether it works, at what dose, in a few hundred people.

A research record, not medical advice: being listed here says nothing about whether a treatment works or whether it is right for you. Talk to a dermatologist about your own case.
How it is meant to work
Soterios describes STS01 only as building on a mechanism with an established safety record in dermatology, acting on inflammatory signalling and T-cell proliferation, and has not named the substance. The company filed a UK patent application for a dithranol-containing composition in March 2025; nothing public connects it to STS01, so the mechanism stays undisclosed here.
Why it matters
The Phase 2 enrolled 158 people with mild to moderate disease, under half the scalp affected, for 24 weeks of once-daily application at four strengths from 0.25% to 2%. Soterios reported in May 2024 that 75.9% on the 1% strength improved their SALT score by more than 30%, against 36.7% on placebo, and that 19% on 1% and 27% on 2% regrew fully, against 3%. Those are the company's topline figures, and it said full results would be presented at a medical meeting. No peer-reviewed paper has followed that this register can find and no Phase 3 has been announced, so the programme has been quiet for over two years.
