A research record, not medical advice: being listed here says nothing about whether a treatment works or whether it is right for you. Talk to a dermatologist about your own case.

Why it matters

The registry names it: the men's study is titled as oral minoxidil, and both trials describe an oral solution given in drops and titrated from 0.5 to 2 mg a day, the range dermatologists already use off-label. Female pattern hair loss is chronically under-served by the pipeline, so a registrational trial aimed at it is worth recording before it starts: 372 women against placebo, estimated to begin in January 2027, with a matching 372-man study the same month and no sites listed for either. If they run, they would join the Spanish and American programmes trying to give oral minoxidil a label, as the low-dose oral minoxidil entry records.
